Opel Ampera 2012

The Opel Ampera is a series hybrid plug-in option, where the electric motor handles the driving task and the petrol engine mainly acts as a generator, producing electricity for the electric motor and for charging the battery. The electric range in the MVEG cycle is up to 80 km, in real driving about 40-80 km depending on conditions. The car suits a daily driver whose most drives are short with recharging, but who wants the certainty of a combustion engine for long journeys. Four seats and a hatchback body smaller than estate size makes parking easy in the city.

Technically the car is equipped with a lithium-ion battery (16 kWh gross), and the powertrain delivers 111 kW or 151 hp and 370 Nm of torque. Acceleration 0-100 km/h is about 9 seconds and top speed 161 km/h. The automatic transmission is single-speed, which makes the driving experience smooth and easy. The odometer reading of 94 183 km is typical for the model and suitable for a 2012 car.
