Terms of Service

By using AutoNord you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

AutoNord is an online car marketplace operated in Finland by AutoNord Market Oy. Buyers browse and search vehicles, compare them, save favourites and searches, ask sellers questions, book test drives and make offers. A private person can list their own car. A dealership lists and runs its cars from AutoNord Pro, under the AutoNord Dealership Agreement, which applies to that dealership in addition to these terms. We provide the platform and the tools around it. The vehicle sale itself is agreed between the buyer and the seller. AutoNord is not a party to that sale, does not act as an agent for either side, and does not own, inspect or warrant any vehicle listed here. The service changes over time. We add, change and withdraw features, and some features are available only to certain accounts, countries or languages. Where these terms describe something that is not switched on yet, they govern it from the moment it is.

Some parts of the service need an account. You must give accurate registration details, keep your credentials secure, and you are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be legally able to enter into a contract. An account here is a buyer's account or a private person listing their own car. A dealership and its staff use AutoNord Pro, and how a business account is verified, administered and shared among a team is set out in the AutoNord Dealership Agreement. We may require two-factor authentication for accounts that publish listings, handle other people's data or change billing. Keep your email address current. A notice we send to the address on the account counts as delivered.

We may limit, suspend or close an account, and remove, hide or refuse content, where we reasonably believe that these terms have been broken; that content or an account is unlawful, misleading, fraudulent or infringes someone's rights; that the account is being used to harm buyers, sellers or the service; that a fee due has not been paid; or that the law requires it. Where it is reasonable to do so, we tell you first and give you a chance to put it right. Where the risk is serious — fraud, a security incident, a legal order, a threat to other users — we act first and tell you afterwards. If you think we got it wrong, write to [email protected]: we will look again and give you our reasons, unless the law prevents us from doing so. Suspending or closing an account does not end what either side already owes the other.

Sellers — dealerships and private persons — are responsible for their listings: the price, the vehicle's condition, mileage, history and equipment, the statutory information the law requires a seller to give, and the legality of the sale. A listing must be for a real vehicle that the seller is entitled to sell. AutoNord does not inspect vehicles and does not verify what a seller says about one. We may check a listing, correct its formatting, decline it, hide it or remove it, and we remove prohibited, misleading, duplicated or unlawful listings. We are not obliged to monitor listings, and not acting in one case does not waive the right to act in another. A private person may not use a private listing to trade as a business. If you sell vehicles commercially, use a dealership account — your buyers' consumer rights depend on which one you are.

What you upload stays yours. When you list a car you give AutoNord a non-exclusive, royalty-free right, for as long as your listing and your account exist, to store, show, resize, crop, translate and format your listing text and photographs — so that we can publish the listing, show it in search and recommendations, and show it in ordinary promotion of that listing and of AutoNord. The right covers only your own car. You confirm that the car is yours to sell, that the photographs are yours to use, and that what you say about the car is true. Do not upload another seller's photographs, and do not upload photographs carrying another company's name, logo or watermark: we do not remove them, so such a photograph simply is not used. When your listing ends or your account closes we stop publishing it. We may keep a copy for as long as we need it to handle a complaint or a legal claim; our privacy policy says what happens to your personal data.

If AutoNord receives a notice that vehicle content infringes someone's rights, we may hide or remove that content at once and will tell you. Please reply within five working days with anything that shows you are entitled to use the content.

AutoNord's pages, listings, photographs, descriptions, translations, estimates and statistics, and the collection they form, belong to AutoNord or to the sellers who supplied them. Using the service does not transfer them to you. You may browse and search the service, share individual listings, and use it for your own buying and selling. This section is about AutoNord's own pages and the collection they form. It does not restrict where a seller sells its cars, which other marketplaces it lists them on, or who it does business with. Those are the seller's own decisions and nothing here touches them. These restrictions apply to anyone who accesses the service, with or without an account. If you do not accept them, do not access the service. You may not: — read the service with automated software of any kind — a robot, spider, crawler, scraper, harvester, offline reader, headless browser, browser-automation framework or any equivalent tool — beyond what our robots.txt expressly allows; — copy, extract, store or re-publish the catalogue or a substantial part of it, whether substantiality is judged by quantity or by quality, nor repeatedly and systematically extract insubstantial parts of it; — use our listings, photographs, descriptions, translations, estimates or data to build, train, supply or operate another vehicle marketplace, price database, valuation product, dataset or machine-learning model; — collect data from the service through an account, through an interface we have not documented for that purpose, through an internal endpoint, or by means of cookies or similar techniques; — sell, sub-license or otherwise pass on access to our data; — work around any technical measure — a rate limit, an access control, a bot check, an IP or account block — including by rotating addresses, routing requests through a proxy, or presenting your software as a browser or as an agent other than what it is. AutoNord asserts the database and catalogue right in the collection (Copyright Act §49) in addition to the copyright in its individual parts. Those rights apply whether or not you have accepted these terms. If you want AutoNord's data for a legitimate purpose — a partner integration, research, a feed — write to [email protected]. We would rather answer a request than discover it happening. A seller's own vehicle content remains its own. Nothing here limits a seller from using its own cars, texts and photographs wherever it likes.

AutoNord expressly reserves the text-and-data-mining right in everything it publishes, under §13 b of the Finnish Copyright Act and Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790. Content on AutoNord may not be used to build a corpus, an index, an embedding, a dataset or a model by automated means, except as set out below. The exception is the answer engines we name in our robots.txt. We let those read AutoNord and answer questions about our cars, because a buyer asking an assistant is a buyer looking for a car. That permission is stated per agent in robots.txt, it covers what is named there and nothing beyond it, and we can withdraw it. Everyone else: write to [email protected] first. A licence is available, and not asking is the only thing that turns this into a dispute.

Buyers and sellers deal with each other through the service — enquiries, messages, test-drive bookings, offers and the notifications about them. Those messages pass through our systems and are stored with the listing and the account. We may scan messages automatically and review them by hand to prevent fraud, spam, abuse and attempts to move a conversation off the platform in order to defraud someone, and we may block or remove a message on that basis. Write to the other party as you would to anyone you are doing business with: no abuse, no harassment, nothing unlawful or misleading, and nothing selling something other than the car at hand. Do not use another user's contact details for any purpose other than the enquiry they made. Service messages — a reply to your enquiry, a booking confirmation, a security notice, a change to these terms — are part of the service and are sent for as long as you have an account. Saved-search alerts, price alerts and the newsletter are optional, and every one carries an unsubscribe link.

A buyer may submit a purchase offer on a listing through the service, and the dealership may accept or decline it. An offer and its acceptance express both parties' intent to proceed with the sale — they do not complete the vehicle sale remotely and do not by themselves create a binding sales agreement for the vehicle. An accepted offer may reserve the car for the buyer for a limited time. To complete the purchase, the buyer visits the dealership, inspects the vehicle, and concludes the sale directly with the dealership; the sales agreement for the vehicle is made there, between the buyer and the dealership.

A booking made through the service is a request for a time with the seller, and the seller confirms it. The test drive itself is between you and the seller, at their premises and on their conditions — bring a valid driving licence and expect to be asked for it. AutoNord is not present, does not insure the drive and is not responsible for what happens on it. If you cannot come, cancel in the service or tell the seller.

A dealership may prepare the sales documents in AutoNord and ask you to sign them electronically in the service. The document is between you and the dealership. AutoNord provides the tool and keeps a copy, with a record of who signed and when, so that both of you can show what was agreed. Read a document before you sign it — a signature made in the service is intended to bind you. If you would rather sign on paper, say so to the dealership.

The vehicle price is paid by the buyer to the seller, directly. AutoNord is not a party to the sale and does not hold the vehicle price. The buyer and the seller agree payment and handover between themselves. Where AutoNord offers a payment step inside the service for a vehicle — a reservation, a deposit or a purchase — it runs through a payment provider, the amount and what it covers are shown before you pay, and paying does not by itself complete the sale. Any money held for a purchase is held for the parties and released or refunded as the flow states at the time, and any fee is shown before payment. Refunds of a vehicle price, and any consumer-law claim about the vehicle, are between the buyer and the seller.

Parts of the service are automated or AI-assisted: listing descriptions and summaries, translation between Finnish, Swedish and English, image handling and image descriptions, search that reads a typed sentence, price and market estimates, and an assistant that answers questions about the catalogue. These run on your content and on our catalogue data, and we use AI providers to do it; the providers in use are named in our privacy policy. Automated output can be wrong. It is a starting point and a convenience — not advice, and not a valuation to rely on for a decision. A seller remains responsible for its listing, including text that AutoNord generated or translated for it, and should check it before publishing; where publishing happens automatically under a setting the seller switched on, the responsibility is the same. An estimate is an estimate. Vehicle type data comes from Traficom's open data and describes the model, not the individual car. We may change, limit or withdraw these features, and we may decline to generate content for any listing.

We record and analyse how AutoNord is used — what visitors search for, which listings they open, how long a car takes to sell — to run the service, keep it secure, prevent fraud, support you, and to fix and improve AutoNord and build new features and services. We produce statistics, market analyses and price estimates from that, and we may use them in the service, in our own marketing and in new products. Anything we publish or share outside the service is aggregated or anonymised: it does not identify you. The aggregated and anonymised results, and what we derive from them, belong to AutoNord, and we may keep and use them after your account ends. Personal data is handled as our privacy policy describes, and your rights under it are not affected by this section.

We work to keep AutoNord available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may take the service down for maintenance, and we may change, limit or withdraw any feature. Some features are released gradually, or to some accounts only. Where a change materially reduces what a paying dealership gets from the plan it is on, we tell it in advance and it may cancel before the change takes effect.

The service is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that listings are accurate, that a vehicle is as described, or that any transaction will complete. Estimates, statistics, documents and other tools in the service are provided for convenience and are not advice — legal, financial, technical or otherwise. Vehicle type data comes from Traficom's open data and describes the model, not the individual car; it may be incomplete. Where the service links to another company's site or service, that company's own terms apply there and we are not responsible for it.

To the extent permitted by law, AutoNord is not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including lost profit, lost data or lost goodwill — arising from use of the service or from any transaction between users. We are not liable for the vehicle itself, for what a buyer or a seller says or does, or for a sale agreed between them. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Finnish law, and nothing limits a consumer's mandatory rights. A dealership's liability position is set out in the AutoNord Dealership Agreement.

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Your mandatory consumer-protection rights under Finnish and EU law are unaffected.

We may update these terms, and material changes are announced in the service before they take effect. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept it; if you do not accept a change, stop using the service and close your account. Changes to the AutoNord Dealership Agreement follow that agreement's own notice rule, which gives a dealership at least 30 days and the right to end the agreement before the change takes effect.

You can stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may limit or close an account as described above. Closing your account ends, going forward, the rights you granted us to your listing content: we stop publishing your listings. We may still keep the copies needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, and data that is aggregated or anonymised. The clauses that by their nature should outlast the agreement — your responsibility for what you listed, acceptable use, data, disclaimers, liability and governing law — survive it.
