Volvo 740 231 hp 1991

This 1991 Volvo 740 is a sedan-bodied rear-wheel-drive diesel with an odometer reading of 535,000 km. The power source is an aluminium-block M57, 3000 cc and 231 hp, and the transmission is manual. According to the seller, the car is built to serve as a daily driver, but can also be used for some clever tricks if needed, and it's a different world compared to a regular diesel etc.

The seller says this is a summer hobby project: early summer the car had a D24T and automatic, those were tossed out and an engine that should have been fitted from the factory was installed. In the seller's words, it's not a tuned car but basic reliable technology, which was taken from the front of a 330 E91 and fitted to the Volvo. The car has been modification-inspected.

The mechanics have a ZF GS6-53DZ gearbox, and a 1041 axle with new oils and a modified ratchet lock, so it locks quite well now. The suspension is done with J-Spec V3 coilovers with all adjustments and camber top mounts, which are new. In addition, the car has an intercooler and charge air cooler, as well as a tablet showing rpm, boost pressure etc., which is configurable.

The wheels have also been renewed: the car has new Audi rims with new summer tyres.
