Short answers on how AutoNord works for buyers, private sellers and dealerships.
Buying a car
Does AutoNord cost anything for a buyer?
No. Browsing, saved searches, contacting a seller and booking a test drive are free for buyers, and there is no commission on the sale.
How do I contact the seller?
Open the car's listing and send a message from there. The conversation appears under My messages, and you get an email when the seller replies.
Can I book a test drive?
Yes, when the seller has made times available. Every listing carries a test-drive panel: sign in, pick one of the times the seller offers and send the request, with a message if you want. The seller confirms or declines it, and you follow it under My test drives. If no times are open, the panel says so.
Can I compare cars side by side?
Yes. Add cars with the compare button on the card and their details line up on the comparison page.
Will I be told when a suitable car appears?
Yes. When a search returns nothing you can save it, and we email you as soon as a car matching it is published. Saved searches are under Your account → Saved searches and can be removed at any time.
Selling a car privately
What does listing a car cost?
Nothing. Listings are free and unlimited for private sellers, and there is no commission on the sale.
How do I list my car?
Sign in or create a free account, go to Sell your car and fill in the details. You can bring them in from the VIN or from a link to an ad you already have elsewhere, or type them yourself. Then add photos, a price and a description, and publish.
What happens with the VIN?
It is used to fetch the vehicle's type details from Traficom's open data (make, model, body, fuel and gearbox) and fill the form in for you. The VIN is saved with the car and shown on the listing; it is not used to look up the individual car's history. Every field stays editable.
Does a listing need photos?
Yes, at least one is required to publish. Photos are what make a buyer open a listing, so add several if you can.
Can I edit or remove the listing later?
Yes. Under My listings you can change the details, swap photos, adjust the price, and mark the car sold or take the listing down.
Dealerships
How does a dealership join?
Create a dealership account and the application comes to us for review. Once the company is verified you get AutoNord Pro and your own dealership page.
What does verifying the company mean?
We check the company against the Finnish Trade Register using its Business ID before it can publish listings. Verified dealerships carry a badge buyers can see, and buyers can narrow a search to verified dealerships only.
What does it cost a dealership?
The dealership account, the listings and AutoNord Pro are free, and there is no commission on the sale. No credit card is asked for.
Can I import my whole stock at once?
Yes. AutoNord Pro can read the cars from your own website, or import a CSV, Excel, XML or JSON file with the columns mapped before the import. Cars that pass our checks can go live automatically if you switch automatic publishing on; everything else waits unpublished for you to check.
Trust and privacy
Who runs AutoNord?
AutoNord is a Finnish marketplace where both dealerships and private people sell. The operator's contact details are in the terms of service and the privacy policy.
What data is collected about me?
Your account details, your listings and messages, and usage statistics we ask consent for in the cookie banner. The full description is in the privacy policy, and you can request your data or its deletion.
Is payment handled through AutoNord?
No. AutoNord does not process payments and does not hold money. The sale and the payment are agreed directly with the seller, as on other classified sites.
What if a listing looks suspicious?
Every listing has a report function. Reports are reviewed and a listing that breaks the rules is taken down.
